Food Network StarAs you gear up for the summer months, you many notice your calendar filling up with barbecues, potlucks and parties — all of which call for some delicious food. This weekend, tune in and watch some of your favorite stars and get menu ideas for your next backyard get-together. On Saturday, join the cast of The Kitchen as they make must-have meals. Dishes like Crispy Personal Pita Pizzas and Strawberry Smash cocktail are both tasty and party-friendly, ideal to share with friends. On Sunday, Giada De Laurentiis creates a fusion of Japanese and Italian food with dishes like Asian Mushroom Risotto. Then, catch up with Daphne Brogdon as she prepares a fun menu for her outdoor movie theater party and with Damaris Phillips as she makes her Pecan-Crusted Stuffed Chicken.

On Sunday night, channel your competitive spirit and get ready for three hours of back-to-back competition. First, there’s an all-new Triple G: Redemption, where competitors get a second chance to cook for the grand prize. Next, watch the premiere of Food Network Star and see the 12 contestants take on their first challenge to create an introductory video and make their signature dish for their mentors and the judges. The Kitchen: Must-Have Meals

Geoffrey Zakarian kicks off the show with a smoky braised chicken that he serves with tender lemons, dates and pine nuts. Then, learn creative ways to use pita bread — like Greek nachos and crispy personal pizzas. Dr. Travis Stork shows us how to cure common summer aliments with certain foods. Plus, catch three must-try ingredients and get recipes for fruity treats to celebrate summer: strawberry shortcake and a Strawberry Smash cocktail.

Giada at Home: East Meets Italy

Los Angeles is home to many Italian/Asian fusion restaurants that serve dishes full of the dynamic flavors of the East and the West. In this episode, Giada De Laurentiis explores the Japanese-Italian culture in L.A. and finds inspiration to create her own recipes. Using ingredients like sesame seeds, Thai chiles and shiso leaves, she makes Blistered Shishito Peppers with Olive-and-Basil Salt, Asian Mushroom Risotto and Far East Spaghetti.

Daphne Dishes: Movie Night Alfresco

To get ready for an outside movie theater party, Daphne Brogdon whips up fun drive-in-movie food. Starring on the menu is her golden-brown Culver Crest Popcorn Chicken that she seasons with fennel and mustard seeds. Camouflage Salad with edamame and cabbage plays the supporting role, and Daphne ends the night on a sweet note with Chocolate Mint Bites, Olive Oil Popcorn and Ginger Lemonade.

Damaris Phillips hosts a lunch to celebrate her two aunts whom she’s asked to make her wedding quilt. The menu features a Pecan-Crusted Stuffed Chicken that she garnishes with creamy goat cheese, dill and fresh orange zest. Plus, Damaris makes her Southern take on risotto: a savory bed of tender rice that gets a kick from bourbon and is combined with caramelized asparagus, broccoli and peas.

Guy’s Grocery Games: Triple G Redemption

Four chefs return to Flavortown Market for a second chance at the $20,000 Shopping Spree. Despite their ultimate opportunity for redemption, Guy Fieri doesn’t make their rapid trips down the grocery aisles any easier: He tells them they must make a dinner using the ingredients that tripped them up their first time competing. Next, the remaining three chefs create an unforgettable high-end lunch using items from the Clearance Carts. Finally, watch as two chefs go head-to-head to make their best dish, with a toss of the dice to decide what ingredients must go in the dish.

Food Network Star: Food Star Food Festival

Tune in to meet the 12 Food Network Star Finalists, who are each given the opportunity to star in their own show. But first, they must pass several challenges, beginning with this week’s: create an introductory video, showcasing their signature dish, for the food festival being held the following day. The competitor’s food will be judged not only by their Mentors, Giada De Laurentiis and Bobby Flay, but also by Food Network executives Bob Tuschman and Susie Fogelson, and People Magazine’s JD Heyman.
