Iron Chef Gauntlet
Start the weekend with Ree Drummond as she makes a warming cowboy lunch of cheesy quesadillas and Chunky Beef Chili. Then, Trisha Yearwood is cooking with wine for her book club, the co-hosts on The Kitchen are using fresh ingredients to makeover classic snacks, and Valerie Bertinelli is making a Tuscan pizza and Roasted Vegetable Soup. On Sunday afternoon, Giada De Laurentiis is sightseeing in Florence and making a meal incorporating chianti wine and fava beans.

On Sunday evening, three returning Triple G winners will battle it out in Flavortown Market for a chance to cook head-to-head against Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli. Then, on Iron Chef Gauntlet, the six remaining Iron Chef hopefuls are back to battle it out for a chance to cook against three Iron Chefs, and on Iron Chef Eats, Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, Mario Batali and past Iron Chef America winners are taking you on a trip to the best comfort food and pizza spots across America.

Ree is fixing a warming lunch. There’s Chunky Beef Chili (pictured), a real cowboy favorite amped up with two kinds of beef, and to top it, The Cheesiest Quesadilla makes a fabulous fixin’. For dessert, there’s Individual Caramel Cakes to keep Ree’s crew sweet.

Trisha and her sister, Beth, are getting ready for their book club. First, Beth heads to a local bookstore, where she runs into bestselling author, Ann Patchett. After picking out a book, she joins Trisha in the kitchen, where they make a wine-inspired menu of Rotini with Chicken Marsala Ragout (pictured), Red Wine Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Buttercream and Beth’s Arugula Salad with Blistered Grapes and Sparkling Wine Vinaigrette.

The Kitchen is welcoming spring with fresh ingredients, starting with Geoffrey Zakarian’s juicy Skillet Roasted Pork Chops with Spring Vegetables and Mustard Sauce, Marcela Valladolid’s Baked Apple Chips and Jeff Mauro’s Veggie Top Pesto. French fries get two new twists with Sunny Anderson’s Shoestring Carrot Fries  and Katie Lee’s Baked Parm Green Bean Fries, and Marcela makes Churro Cupcakes (pictured). Geoffrey shakes up a cocktail in honor of DIY Network’s Vanilla Ice, who stops by to share kitchen makeover tips and give an impromptu performance with The Kitchen’s own rap duo, Herb and Spice.

Valerie hired her pal, food blogger Jo Stougaard, to help expand her social media reach. Today, over a menu of Roasted Vegetable Soup, Tuscan Kale Pesto Pizza with Shrimp Scampi (pictured), Lemon Cheesecake with Lemon-Rosemary Shortbread Crust, and Spiked Strawberry Lemonades, they create new posts for Valerie’s social media.

Giada grandfather, Dino De Laurentiis, spent a fair amount of time in Florence, Italy shooting his movie Hannibal. Giada takes a walk down memory lane visiting some of the filming locations, then returns home to create a meal inspired by Dino and the Florence landscape: Asparagus and Grilled Melon Salad, Spaghetti with Chianti and Fava Beans, and Chianti Affogato (pictured).

Three of Grocery Games’ biggest winners are taking each other on to earn the right to battle an Iron Chef. First they must flip the ingredients in the camping classic, s’mores, into a high-end dinner. Then, the two survivors must make an elevated lunch using only one ingredient per aisle. The last GGG chef standing goes head-to-head against Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli in a battle featuring three secret ingredients! With $10,000 on the line, the question is: Whose cuisine will reign supreme?

Iron Chef Gauntlet: Nose to Tail – Sunday, April 23 at 9|8c
The six remaining chefs are greeted by Alton Brown, and he goes hog-wild with his second Chairman’s Challenge. Each competitor must showcase and transform the offerings into an Iron Chef-worthy dish, after drawing numbers to see who picks their ingredient first. Alton judges the dishes, and sends the lowest-ranking chef to a tropical Secret Ingredient Showdown against the winner’s choice. Judges Anne Burrell and Iron Chef Jose Garces eliminate one competitor, and five move closer to the Gauntlet.
The Greek
Iron Chef Eats: Comfort Food – Sunday, April 23 at 10|9c
Nothing warms the heart, satisfies the soul and pleases the palate like comfort food! Iron Chef Bobby Flay’s go-to comfort eats are the grilled lamb chops and sizzling shrimp at The Greek in New York, while Iron Chef Mario Batali dines on Tortellini en Brodo and Gramigna con Salsiccia at Osteria Morini when he wants to feel transported to Italy. Iron Chef winner Michael Psilakis gets his fill of comfort in Nashville and Iron Chef winner Eric Greenspan finds his comfort in San Francisco.

Iron Chef Eats: Pizza Perfection – Sunday, April 23 at 10:30|9:30c
Everyone loves pizza, and the folks from Iron Chef have their top picks when it comes to the best pies. Iron Chef Michael Symon loves Motorino in Brooklyn for their Brussels sprouts and marinara pies baked in a wood-burning oven. For authentic New York-style pizza, Iron Chef winner Tim Love joins the crowds at Home Slice Pizza in Austin for pepperoni and white pies. When it comes to deep dish, Iron Chef winner Ken Oringer stands by Chicago pizza and Iron Chef winner Brad Farmerie keeps it local in New York City by going to his favorite neighborhood spot.
